Here's what will roughly be the cover for my Turkmenistan book (if you've been following along, you'll notice that my publisher won out on the title)(he got me at a moment on Monday when I just didn't want to argue anymore).

Mr. Lonergan

Man, it's been a busy couple of weeks. I've been running around trying to get everything ready for my move to Boston, which will take place this weekend. I've also been trying to get my book all wrapped up, which meant arguing with my publisher about the title, rescanning some stuff, reworking some stuff, and putting more RAM in my computer to deal with all these 1200 dpi images.

But now I'm pretty much packed up. I've dismantled my desk. I've sorted my clothes. I've sent digital files of the book to my publisher, so I think I'm done with the Turkmenistan book (finally!)(I mean really)( I got back from Turkmenistan over two years ago!)(enough of the place already).

I think I may need to rethink my costume. I'm getting a very Miami Dolphins sort of feel from this one at the moment.

Any thoughts? Don't feel limited to commenting on the colors. If you've got some ideas for how the costume would be better, I'm all ears.

Apartment Hunting

So as this comic suggests I am apartment hunting. I'll be moving back to Boston in the beginning of May and this last weekend I spent looking at apartments (which is why there was no new comic on Sunday). I was hoping to find a place and be done with it, but all I've got so far is a couple of maybes, which means I'll probably be heading back down to Boston this weekend to look at more places.

Though it was kind of a frustrating weekend in terms of finding an apartment, it was great being back in Boston.

Spring

So the Turkmenistan book has been read by a few people and so far the comments have been pretty positive. I haven't heard from my publisher yet, but that's nothing new.

Today I sat down and started planning out little things I want to change. Some are simple (the time I wrote "where" when I meant "wear") and won't take long to fix. Some are a little more complicated (the time I somehow managed to forget how to draw). If I get moving (and assuming my publisher doesn't drop a "you have to change absolutely everything" bomb on me) I should be completely in the clear by the end of the month.

And then on to the next book.

Drawing Comics

This is also posted on my publisher's blog along with a detail of the inks from my cover. I was really hoping to get back to work on the Turkmenistan book these week. I was hoping that I would get down to redrawing some of the panels and correcting some grammar and spelling mistakes and generally do all the things necessary to make the book perfect.

But I've been called into substitute every day but one and I just haven't gotten around to it.

I also haven't gotten around to my taxes. This weekend. I swear to God.
