Cafe Drawing
I've been so wrapped up in crosshatching recently. I love the effect, and I enjoy the work I am doing, but it is a really uptight way of putting ink on paper. It's this slow, time-consuming process. I use a tiny little Micron 01 and cover a page with little line after little line, building up to a black. I'm kind of uptight, so this is a method that fits my personality in many ways.
It is, however, nice to take a break and do some quick drawings in a coffee shop with my friend Jerel (he's got a new book out from First Second by the way)(you should get it).
